Dressage at Devon Opens Bigger than Ever Breed Division With a Day of Youngsters Plus the First-Ever U.S. Foal Championship The 34th Annual Dressage at Devon Horse Show presented by Horseworld, Ltd., and DressageClinic.com, opened on September 23 under blue skies with a full-to-capacity roster of competitors. The focus was on the youngsters with breed show classes for yearlings, fillies and colts.

Clark and Law Take Home Top Honors at Young Event Horse Championships
At this year's 2008 Spalding Labs/United States Eventing Association (USEA) Young Event Horse (YEH) Championships, all of the riders and their four- and five-year-old eventers came to win, and all the final results came down to the last rides of the day.
After the dust had cleared, it was Asterion, owned and ridden by Samantha Clark, who took the championship in the five-year-old division, and Amarna, ridden by Leslie Law and owned by Tim and Cheryl Holekamp, who took champion in the four-year-old division. Not far behind them were La Tee Da with Tera MacDonald and Project Runway with Max McMamany who took reserve champion in the five- and four-year-old classes, respectively.

United States Eventing Association/EMCO Future Event Horse Championships Details Announced
The 2008 United States Eventing Association(USEA)/EMCO Future Event Horse (FEH) Championships will be held at Morven Park in Leesburg, VA, on October 1 at 11 a.m. in the same venue and ring as last year. The entry fee is $85, stabling is $40/day, and the grounds fee is $20/day (which is not applicable if stabling overnight). 2008 North American Swedish Warmblood Inspection Tour
The Swedish Warmblood Association of North America (SWANA) will be holding its annual North American inspection and tour from September 27, 2008, through October 7, 2008.
On September 28, 2008, the Swedish inspectors will be at Kismet Farm in Martinez, CA (4100 Barry Hill Court, Martinez, CA 94553) to inspect horses from Northern California, Nevada and Oregon. A total of 10 inspections will be held in the U.S. and Canada.

With two phases of competition on both sides of the country, it was Foxy’s Magic Gift who earned the title of Overall Grand Champion of the 2008 Sallie B. Wheeler/United States Equestrian Federation (USEF) National Hunter Breeding Championship. Even though it was his first time showing in the Hunter Breeding Championship, Foxy’s Magic Gift proved that he has a promising career ahead of him by winning Best Young Horse in the Hunter Breeding Championship – East Coast along with the title of Best Hunter Breeding Yearling Colt/Gelding.

Improved Saddlebred Stallion Service Reports Issued
The American Saddlebred Registry has announced that new and improved Stallion Service Reports for 2008 have been issued. They have been mailed to all stallion owners of record, and are also available online at www.asha.net/files/stallionservicereport.pdf. To avoid mandatory penalties, all Stallion Service Reports must be filed no later than October 31 each year.
