Wimpys Little Step Becomes National Reining Horse Association's Youngest Two Million Sire*

Wimpys Little Step made history at this year’s Carolina Classic Derby, held May 13-16, in Williamston, NC, when his offspring surpassed two million dollars in National Reining Horse Association (NRHA) earnings. The flashy palomino sire joins eight of NRHA’s leading stallions as a Two Million Dollar Sire*. To achieve this elite status is no easy feat, yet Wimpys’ offspring went above and beyond expectations when they earned enough to make him the youngest Two Million Dollar Sire* in NRHA history—by a margin of five years.

The 11-year-old stallion by Nu Chex To Cash and out of Leolita Step has an impressive show record himself, winning the 2002 NRHA Futurity and earning over $185,000 in just three NRHA competitions with NRHA Three Million Dollar Rider Shawn Flarida. With only three foal crops in NRHA competition, he’s already proven his ability to pass his talent on to future generations.

Horses Unlimited's Leonberg Earns Trip to Europe with Third CDI Win

Victories continue to accumulate for Horses Unlimited's Leonberg and his Danish rider Mikala Munter Gundersen. The latest victory was a 70.79% in the Kentucky Cup Grand Prix Special over a field that included World Cup Finalists, European medalists, Olympians and Pan American Games medalists. The Kentucky Cup was the test event for the dressage world championships at the 2010 Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games that will be held at the Kentucky Horse Park September 25 to October 10, 2010. This was the third CDI blue ribbon this season for the pair. They also won both the Grand Prix and the Grand Prix Freestyle at the Palm Beach Dressage Derby CDI-W in March. These successes have ensured that the duo will compete at shows in Europe this summer, including the Danish National Championships.

Dancing with the Stars: Welsh Cob Stallion Waltzes to Championship

Welsh Cob stallion North Forks Cardi and rider/trainer/co-owner Jessica Wisdom broke a barrier, a glass ceiling if you will, for Welsh Cobs and large ponies. They won their FEI Intermediaire I Musical Freestyle class at a Concours Dressage Internationale (CDI) at Rancho Murieta, CA, with an impressive 68.5%. The CDI included four Olympic-qualified judges and one International judge. This is the third Concours Dressage Internationale Team Cardi has entered, and the highest score they've yet achieved at a CDI. This win culminated two weeks of competition in California.

At just 14.3 hands, Cardi is proving that size doesn't matter. And that the little guy can end up on top. Congratulations to Cardi and owners Cindy Miller and Jessica Wisdom of Winterlake Welsh Cob Farm, Pleasant Hill, OR. For more stories about the adventures of “Team Cardi,” visit
